Description

The harmonium is a universal instrument with the ability to express the music of a wide range of spiritual traditions and practices, not just kirtan. In this unique, 7 week live online course on Zoom, we will use the harmonium as a jumping off point to explore a diversity of musical cultures while studying music and the harmonium itself. Music included will span a variety of traditions, including Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Sufism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Christianity and more.

Short guest appearances will be made by teachers who can speak intimately about the spirituality and meaning of the music and prayer of these traditions.

This course, as with all courses Seth offers, is designed as an interactive music learning environment as well as a space to connect with others. We will learn harmonium playing techniques, using your voice, music theory and leading prayerful song sessions. Additionally we will have the opportunity to share our progress with each other along the way.

This open level course is designed for those who already have some basic experience playing the harmonium. If you are complete beginner, please contact Seth prior to registration to see if this is right for you.

Additionally, you will receive 2 private 30 minute coaching sessions with Seth, with an option of adding a 3rd private session for those who want even more personal attention.
