Voice & Harmonium Course: A Level I Training




Description

Are you a harmonium player who loves the practice of kirtan and are feeling called to dive deeper into your voice and harmonium playing? This live-online Voice & Harmonium Level I course will help you open your voice, sing with more ease and confidence, level up your harmonium playing, learn new chant music, and make some great connections with others. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in practice and accelerate your growth as a singer and harmonium player.

You will learn

  • Learn 5 chants with in-depth videos, with easy to intermediate variations:

    • The Prabhupad Maha Mantra

    • Ma Durga by Krishna Das

    • Shiva Shambo

    • Baba Hanuman by Krishna Das

    • Radhe Radhe Govinda Radhe

  • Chord versions, melody versions, and melody + chord versions!

  • Body and breath warmups for your voice

  • Voice exercises you can play on harmonium

  • How to sing with greater ease and freedom

  • How gain confidence singing in front of others

  • Kirtan practice and philosophy


Use the Play-a-Long videos to accompany Seth with your harmonium and voice

Class size is limited to allow for more personal attention and a more intimate, group experience. 



REQUIREMENTS:

  • You’ve taken Seth’s Intro Course, or another harmonium class with Seth

    Or:

  • You understand the basics mechanics of playing the harmonium

  • You can easily identify all Western notes (A, B, C, etc.), white and black keys, on the keyboard.

  • You can easily play 2-3 chants already

    And:

  • A minimum of 45 minutes per week to watch videos

  • 15 minutes per day for practice

*All classes will be recorded for playback if you are unable to attend live and available right after each session.

Bonus Drop-In Class Meetings

4 Thursdays*

11am-12:15pm

May 22nd to June 12th

These Thursday classes are part of our Sangha Membership, which meets year-round and you can optionally join after the course is over.

Private Sessions

Please schedule your private 30 min session Mon-Fri between 9am-7pm EST (based on availability) during weeks 2, 3 or 4 of the course.

*Your private session will expire after the final week of the course.

Seth Lieberman

Seth Lieberman is a classically trained musician, yoga instructor, and professional harmonium teacher.  He has trained as a musician for the last 30 years and earned a university degree in music. Seth has been teaching harmonium and kirtan for the past 14 years and has helped over 200 students achieve their goals of playing the harmonium and sharing kirtan with others. A lifelong music maker, he studied music composition, theory, clarinet, and piano at the University of Maryland, where he received BA in Music. During his 10 years of time living in New York City, he completed 3 different yoga teacher trainings. Seth has joined his two passions of music and yoga through playing and teaching the harmonium, leading kirtan, and creating original music related to mantra and yoga. He has worked with students all over the world, including in the United States, Europe, India, Australia, and Japan and continues to building community internationally.
