Description

The goal of this training is to empower and equip each participant with the confidence and ability to lead their own kirtan. The course is designed to give you fundamental skills, tools and knowledge that will take you deeper into your kirtan experience. Over the course of a full immersive weekend, you will learn how to play instruments, lead kirtan on your own, and develop a much more personal relationship to the art of kirtan itself by diving into the deeper layers of kirtan as a spiritual practice. Elements of the course will include exploring the history and meaning of kirtan, how to develop the devotional qualities that can enhance your kirtan offerings, learning rhythm, and how to play harmonium and kartals (hand cymbals). No previous kirtan experience or musical ability is necessary.

Seth Lieberman

Seth Lieberman is a musician and yoga teacher residing in the Hudson Valley of New York. A lifelong music maker, he studied music composition, theory, clarinet, and piano at the University of Maryland, where he received BA in Music. During his 10 years of time living in Brooklyn, NY, he completed 3 different yoga teacher trainings. Seth has joined his two passions of music and yoga through playing and teaching the harmonium, leading kirtan, and creating original music related to mantra and yoga. He has been actively teaching harmonium both online and in-person for the past 8 years and has helped bring the joy of mantra and music to many students throughout the world.
